Just a few days after picketing in a driving November rain, the striking workers of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette weathered something different Tuesday: snow.

A wave of flurries dusted the Pittsburgh region on Tuesday afternoon with just over an inch and a half of snow, according to the National Weather Service.

Of course, a little snow isn’t enough to deter striking PG workers.

On the 29th day of the Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh’s strike, workers braved the cold to stand outside the PG’s North Shore newsroom once again.

The picket line followed a day of rallies and bargaining in Downtown Pittsburgh.

The Newspaper Guild and the PG met Monday for their first contract bargaining talks in more than two years.

Guild bargaining committee members said the company rebuffed an offer to temporarily restore the noneconomic terms of its 2014-17 contract.

Prior to Monday morning’s negotiations, the guild and a host of supporters from other unions held a rally in Mellon Square, just outside of the Omni William Penn Hotel, the site of the contract talks.

The guild and the PG agreed to meet again Thursday morning.
