Pine-Richland and North Allegheny are used to waging legendary battles on the football field, but the Rams and Tigers took their rivalry to the basketball court Tuesday night.

In one of the wildest and certainly one of the longest WPIAL games so far this season, North Allegheny emerged victorious in triple overtime after a 61-54 road victory. The Tigers (8-9, 3-4) kept their playoff hopes alive with the win, while Pine-Richland’s already slim postseason chances took a major hit.

Ty Iwanonkiw led North Allegheny with 19 points, while Joey Dopirak added 18 and Joe Marquis contributed with 11 for the Tigers. Emery Moye led all scorers with 22 points for the Rams (5-13, 1-6) to go with 14 from Owen Luellen.

Other boys games

• Royce Parham led North Hills with 26 points while Jake Pollaro chipped in with 16 and Zach Pollaro added 14 in a 63-62 home win against Moon (9-7, 4-3). The Indians (15-4, 6-1) withstood a furious fourth-quarter rally by the Tigers, who trailed in the fourth by 63-50 before scoring the game’s final 12 points. Elijah Guillory finished with a game-high 32 points for Moon.

• Peter Kramer led a barrage of 3-pointers from Hampton with six 3s as part of his team-leading 26 points in an 82-40 win at Indiana (6-12, 1-6). The Talbots (16-2, 7-0) made 14 3-pointers and also received 16 points from Eric Weeks, who converted four 3-pointers.

• Noah Barren led all scorers with 16 points along with 11 from Rob Thomas and 10 from Julian Dugger, as host Penn Hills (14-2, 7-0) used its stingy defense to lock down Armstrong (11-7, 2-5) in a 50-33 win. Cadin Olsen, a star quarterback for the River Hawks who recently surpassed 1,000 career points, finished with 14 points.

Girls games

• Nadia Davis led all scorers with 18 points and Lauren Borella added 10 to lead Canon-McMillan (5-12, 1-8) to its first section win of the season in a 48-41 triumph against visiting Bethel Park (6-11, 3-6). Ella Harmon finished with a team-high 11 points for the Black Hawks.
