A Bethel Park police lieutenant has been indicted in federal court on charges of transporting an illegal alien within the U.S.
Blake Thomas Babin, 59, was charged with transporting the person, identified only as AMTH, from Oct. 20, 2022, through Dec. 30, 2022.
The grand jury said he did it knowing the individual had entered the U.S. illegally and to help keep the person in the country.
Babin was indicted on Tuesday, and the case was unsealed Thursday with his arrest by the FBI.
No other details were available on Babin’s motives or who the person he was helping is.
Babin has been a police officer in Bethel Park since 1990.
