The Pittsburgh Regional Transit board of directors approved a new contract Friday with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers that provide raises of 10% over three years.
The contract covers about 60 workers in customer service and other office staff. The union had previously approved the deal, which is retroactive to May 1.
The contract provides raises of 4%, 3% and 3%. Like other union deals approved last fall, the contract also provides a $1-an-hour bonus to employees who worked through the pandemic, with a maximum bonus of $4,000.
The contract also adds Juneteenth as a holiday and increases sick days for new employees from two days after one year to five days their first year.
With this deal, the agency has contracts with more than 2,400 union employees until 2025. Transit police officers signed a one-year deal February.
