With the start of high school football just around the corner, teams from all over Western Pennsylvania have been busy preparing for the upcoming season.
That includes the Pittsburgh Union Progress.
The PUP’s team of high school sports authorities also has been preparing for the 2023 football season, which kicks off Aug. 25. The PUP has been combing the preseason camps and gathering statistics, data and interviews to bring you the most in-depth collection of football previews and feature stories.
City League and Class 1A previews and feature stories, as well as an inside look at the upcoming season from high school sports expert Brad Everett, will begin our coverage Sunday. Each day, our PUP sports staff will be previewing a different team and conference in each class in the WPIAL and City League, wrapping up with Class 6A on Aug. 24.
As an added bonus, the PUP will unleash its own football rankings every week, beginning Aug. 24 with its preseason listings. “The Best in Show” rankings of the WPIAL and City League’s top teams will continue throughout the regular season, along with a Game of the Week, all-encompassing football notebook and feature stories throughout each week.
Turn to the PUP every Friday night to see the latest game results and highlights, with special feature stories appearing Saturday mornings off of Friday night’s action.
It promises to be an exciting high school football season this year, and it all kicks off in the Pittsburgh Union Progress beginning Sunday.
