Members of the Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh who have been on strike for more than 13 months on an unfair labor practice strike at the Post-Gazette handed out leaflets to people in Downtown’s Cultural District Wednesday night. The leaflets outline the journalists’ cause, which is shared by striking workers in advertising, in mailing, on the presses and in transportation.
The workers say that one of the roadblocks to settling the strike is Ronald Davenport Jr., a board member of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust who also is a board member of Block Communications Inc. — the parent company of the Post-Gazette.
The PUP is the publication of the striking workers at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
