Irvin and Claire, the bald eagle pair nesting near U. S. Steel’s Irvin Plant, welcomed the second egg of the season Tuesday evening.
Andrew Fulton, U.S. Steel Corp. media representative, said the eaglet will be called USS 8 after it hatches, as it will be the eighth successful hatch at the nest.
Claire laid the second egg at 6:47:07 p.m. Tuesday, according to the PixCams chat. She delivered the first egg last Friday. Mom with both eggs can be seen here: https://youtu.be/SQDwO_I4MlY?si=O-H1_9Mp88DreUcW
