There’s limited special road work to watch for this weekend, but what there is scheduled will be disruptive. Here’s the schedule:

  • Interstate 79 ramp — Anyone driving on the outbound Parkway West who wants to head north on Interstate 79 toward Erie this weekend will have to head south first. That’s because the northbound I-79 ramp from the Parkway West will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday while crews do concrete patching. The posted detour will direct traffic south on I-79 toward Washington to the Carnegie exit, turn left on Main Street, then head north on I-79. The work is part of Golden Triangle Construction Co. Inc.’s $15 million project to upgrade a series of ramps and bridges on I-79 in Robinson and Kennedy between the Parkway West Airport/Pittsburgh exit and a half-mile north of the Route 60 Moon Run/Crafton interchange. The work will last through next spring.
  • Brookline – Edgebrook Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Brookline neighborhood will be closed to through traffic most of next week between Timberland and Bellaire avenues. Beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, crews will be paving the roadway through 3 p.m. Friday. Local traffic and emergency services will be allowed to enter the street during the work.
