When Iyanna Wade is on a basketball court playing with her Clairton team, it’s almost certain that the two-time WPIAL scoring champion will be the game’s top scorer.

That held true again Monday, only her team’s opponent had a player who matched Wade point for point.

That player, Bailey White, put forth a performance she won’t soon forget.

White scored 37 points, including the 1,000th of her career, to lead host Allderdice to a 73-58 win against Clairton in a non-section game.

It was a sensational effort by White, a junior guard who last season scored 34 points in the City League championship to lead the Dragons to their first title since 2020.

On Monday, White connected on three 3-pointers for Allderdice (2-2), which led, 30-26, at the half before using a 27-17 edge in the third quarter to break the game open. The Dragons also got 17 points from Rhyan Sledge and 12 from Peyton Lynch.

Wade led Clairton (2-1) with 37 points, this after scoring 42 and 43 points in her team’s first two games. Wade, a senior guard who averaged 40 points a game last season, upped her career total to 2,271 points.
