A first: Stella laid a third egg just after 5 p.m. Wednesday in the nest she shares with Irvin at U.S. Steel’s Irvin Plant in West Mifflin. This is the first time there have been three eggs in the U.S. Steel bald eagle nest.
Media representative Andrew Fulton said no one has caught a glimpse of the eggs so far. That’s because Irvin and Stella built a pretty substantial well inside the nest, so the eggs are out of camera view.
The Steel City Eagles Facebook faithful have been posting about it, of course, including this video of Irvin realizing the birth and coming in for a closer look.
