Road restrictions will begin Friday for a couple of local road projects where construction is resuming. Here are the details:
- Interstate 79 – Single-lane restrictions will occur in Kennedy, Robinson and Neville from 7 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday between the Neville Island Bridge and the interchange at Route 60 Crafton/Moon Run. Crews will be patching concrete as part of the $43.9 million project in the area known as the “S-Bend,” which has included full-depth reconstruction of the roadway, bridge preservation work, and milling and paving on three ramps at the Route 51 Coraopolis/McKees Rocks interchange.
- Mount Royal Boulevard – Work is expected to resume at 9 a.m. Friday on an $11.9 million improvement project on Mount Royal Boulevard in Hampton and Shaler. Single-lane alternating traffic will occur on weekdays until 3 p.m. between Route 8 and Grant Avenue through mid-November. Flaggers will assist motorists while crews conduct base repairs, mill and pave the surface, install concrete curbs and gutters, and improve drainage on the road.
